WELCOME TO S.I.S.T.A.s SISTERS IN SPEECH THERAPY & AUDIOLOGY

S.I.S.T.A.s (Sisters in Speech Therapy & Audiology) is a community comprised of minority women currently practicing or studying in the field of Speech Pathology and/or Audiology. These amazing women are assessing, treating, educating, and conducting trailblazing research to help make a difference in the lives of individuals with deficits, diseases or disorders that affect speech, language, hearing, cognition, voice, fluency, swallowing and pragmatics (social skills).

S.I.S.T.A.s (Sisters in Speech Therapy & Audiology) are making a significant impact in a multitude of settings, including schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and assisted living facilities, colleges and universities, sub-acute centers, home health agencies, private practices and clinics, as well as in corporate America.

But to whom much is given, much is required! S.I.S.T.A.s (Sisters in Speech Therapy & Audiology) believe it is our responsibility to:

• INSPIRE and ENCOURAGE and pass the torch to other young minority women seeking to make a difference in the lives of others who have communication deficits and disorders.
• SUPPORT and CELEBRATE our S.I.S.T.A.s who are impacting the lives of their students, patients and clients every day.

To us, RECRUITMENT and RETENTION of these bright and talented women in our field goes hand in hand.
